General
Are you a locksmith or a safe specialist?
We're safe & vault specialists — safes, vaults, and the locks that protect them are the focus of everything we do.
Are you licensed, certified and insured?
Yes. We're a licensed NYC locksmith (DCWP Lic. #8712941), fully insured, and a member of SAVTA — the Safe & Vault Association. Owner Ari trained at the Lockmasters Security Institute and the ALOA and is a certified Kaba Mas X-10 and SecuRam technician, with 16 years of safe & vault experience. Documentation is available on request.
Which areas do you cover?
All five NYC boroughs — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island — plus Westchester and Long Island.
Buying a safe
Which security rating do I need?
It depends on what you're storing and your insurer's cash or valuables limit. On a free consultation we'll recommend the right grade — an RSC, B-rate, UL TL-15/TL-30 or a fire rating — and never push you beyond what you actually need.
Do I need a fire rating as well as burglary protection?
If you're storing documents, media or anything heat-sensitive, yes. Many safes combine burglary and fire protection — we'll match the safe to what you keep.
What are fire and burglary ratings, and who sets them?
A safe's rating tells you how much protection it gives in a fire or break-in. Underwriters' Laboratories (UL) is the main testing body, with Intertek-ETL also testing and rating safes, and insurers use those construction ratings as a standard. It can be confusing the first time — we'll explain it in plain English.
Can you supply a specific brand or model?
Usually. We're an authorized dealer and technician for AMSEC and Gardall, and we also service ISM, Mesa Safe, Sargent & Greenleaf and more. Tell us what you're after and we'll source it.
Opening & lockouts
Do you have to drill or cut my safe open?
Almost never. The myth that a locked safe must be cut open is wrong in about 99% of cases. We try manipulation and other non-destructive methods first — and even when drilling is required, we repair the safe to full working order afterward.
I've lost the combination — can you reset it?
Yes. Once the safe is open, we service the lock and set a fresh combination, or fit a new lock, and test everything before we leave.
When can you come out, and how fast?
We answer the phone 24/7, seven days a week, across all five boroughs. After-hours and same-day visits depend on availability — call and we'll confirm coverage and the soonest we can reach you.
Installation & moving
Can a heavy safe go upstairs or into an apartment?
Usually, yes. We assess access first and bring the right rigging — we've moved and installed heavy safes in walk-ups and pre-war buildings across the city.
Is installation included when I buy a safe?
Our quoted prices include professional delivery, anchoring and setup. We confirm the final price on your free assessment, before any work begins.
Can you move a safe I already own?
Yes — we move and re-anchor safes and vaults across the city, with the right rigging and insurance.
Pricing & quotes
How much does it cost?
Every job is different, so we give you a clear written quote before any work begins — and there's no charge to assess. The price depends on the safe, the lock, the work involved and access.
Is there a charge for a quote or assessment?
No — quotes and assessments are free and no-obligation.
